Many people believe that health care Coverage is not worth paying for. People might think that their health costs will permanently be tiny or non-existent. Many might think that their auto Coverage will pay for them or that they can get medical care even if they don't own Insurance.
Your health care history is a good predictor of whether or not you might have health care problems in the near future. If you've always been healthy, you've got a better chance of not needing medical care in the next year when compared to a person who has a history of being sick all the time.
However, some people who have diabetes, high blood pressure or even heart attacks had unblemished health care histories for decades. Then they got sick and maybe stayed ill or even died.
Your good health history isn't a very good predictor of future injury. A perfectly healthy person can slip on a child's toy and fall down a flight of stairs or have an accident while exercising.
Will Your Auto Coverage Plan Pay Your medical care expenses? Your car insurance policy offers limited Cover for your health costs. Your automobile Cover policy may pay for the health expenses of those you might injure in an accident. However you can't hold yourself legally liable for your own health care expenses, this Coverage is restricted when it comes to your health bills. Even auto policies with "no fault" Cover typically limit this Assurance to a few thousand dollars per car accident.
Will Your Job's Cover Cover You? When you are hurt on the job, there is a good chance that your employer's workman's compensation or liability Insurance will pay your health bills. But it is the rare disease or sicknesses that will be covered by an employer's liability policy.
Of course when your employer provides medical Insurance for you, many more situations are likely to be covered.
Will A Hospital Treat You Even if You posses no coverage? In many scenarios you can get treatment from a hospital whether or not you own medical cover. There are big drawbacks. One is the limitation on the medical care and another is the potential destruction of your credit.
Most hospitals will treat uninsured patients who walk through their doors in the aftermath of heart attack. Most hospitals will treat those who are in need of immediate health care in emergency situations. However, once the crisis is over, they are likely to stop medical interventions unless you can pay for it.
If a hospital does treat you when you don't own medical care coverage the medical care isn't likely to be free. You will be billed and when you can't pay the bill, the event and its cost may hang over your head like a dark cloud for years and years.
Can The Government Pay Your medical costs? In some cases Social Security or Medicaid will cover your medical bills. However few people qualify. Only specific health issues qualify for payments from Social Security. Medicaid only covers those who possess very low assets and income.
An auto Insurance plan or some other liability policy or the government may cover your health care bills in some situations. However, only a comprehensive health insurance plan will give you the peace of mind of knowing that a major sickness or crash won't destroy your financial future.
